Tennessee Champagne is a band from Elizabethon, TN, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The group set out to craft an earnest and energetic sound, with a lot of character. Their musical vocabulary is extensive and diverse, borrowing from the deep tradition of great American music. From folk and blues to outlaw country and rock, anything goes!

Their blend of massive southern rock grooves and insightful songwriting marks the coordinates of the band, and their studio work, including their most recent EP, which represents Tennessee Champagne’s personality.

The group’s music bridges the subtle gap between the energy of rock and the appeal of a good hook, tipping the hat off to iconic acts such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackberry Smoke, The Black Crowes, and The Allman Brothers, among others. Ultimately, Tennessee Champagne has a sound that perfectly reflects their moniker: smooth, yet full-bodied and somewhat gritty!

Review:
"With the band name they must of course come from Tennessee. To be exact from Elizabethon, which is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Their debut album of the same name sounds more like exquisite whiskey and beer than champagne.

With "Wicked" they start in the middle tempo, the rhythm section creates a rich grooving Southern Rock, spiced up with electric guitar solos that get to the point. The singer knows how to transport soul, blues and rock effortlessly with his vocal chords. A serious nonchalance, which he maintains on all songs, distinguishes him. Even on the hard blues-rock "Thunder In The Mountain", which conjures up the spirits of ZZ Top and Blackberry Smoke. "Can't Get Over You" is a blues ballad deeply rooted in the south, performed with a lot of soul and passion. Sounds like a Gregg Allman song, honor to whom honor is due! "Mountains In My Bones" thunders with hard rhythms, the electric guitars flash with solos over the fat organ runs. On "Stompin' Grounds" the organ creeps snakelike between the delicate guitar licks and solos, all prepared 'deep down in the south'. The back of the LP sets the next scent mark with "Selfish Ways", a free-flowing piece of music with soft vibes and finely cheering electric guitars. "Corn From A Jar" shines with typical southern casualness, the slide guitars hiss, the rhythms create dark contrasts, an emotional interplay! The ballad "Singing To My Broken Heart" is performed with a lot of feeling and empathy, Southern Blues and Soul resonate. The funky blues-rock between ZZ Top and The Black Crowes is "Shake It". Finally, Tennessee Champagne celebrate all the ingredients of their tasty Southern Rock brew once again. Accordingly, "Silver Tongue" swings up to a six-minute hymn, which lets the album fade away, both heavily stomping and finely balanced.

Tennessee Champagne present a great debut album in the Southern Rock genre. They include varieties of blues, folk, country, funk and soul as if it were a matter of course. A more than promising LP that wants to be celebrated. Which is why we'll be popping the champagne corks at the next Tennessee Champagne listening session!" (Günter Ramsauer)
